Commencement
Please check with John Grammer if you have any questions about your academic requirements for graduation.
The University is delighted to announce that author, pundit and New York Times columnist David Brooks will give this year’s Baccalaureate Address. The Baccalaureate Service will take place at 10 am Saturday, May 11, in All Saints’ Chapel. Although the University does not customarily announce its speaker this far in advance, we are doing so this year because while Mr. Brooks is on the Mountain, he and Jon Meacham, C’91, will discuss power and politics in a special event at 4 p.m. Friday, May 10. All are welcome to attend what promises to be a lively and entertaining conversation between these two knowledgeable political observers. Please consider including this event in your Commencement Weekend plans. The full story is posted here: http://news.sewanee.edu/life/
Upon arrival in Sewanee you will need to pick up tickets for All Saints' Chapel and McClurg Hall for your guests. These will be at McGriff Alumni House through Saturday afternoon during their Commencement Desk Hours. The hours can be found here: http://parents.sewanee.
Immediately following the Baccalaureate Service Saturday there will be a short rehearsal. Please meet on the chancel steps.
There will be a graduation party 5 - 7 pm on Saturday, May 11, at the residence of Professor Jenn Lewin. You and your guests are invited.
Commencement will be at 10 am on Sunday, May 12, at All Saints' Chapel. There will be a reception for School of Letters graduates and their friends and families at 1 pm in the EQB Room following the Commencement Service.
If you and your family are planning to stay in Sewanee, you should book a hotel now. You may also find accommodation rentals on the Alumni page.
